The morning of the 2025 general election brought eager politicians and voters alike out to the polls. The early morning autumn air was crisp and the sun was bright as everyone gathered outside of the largest precinct in all of Alleghney County, Sterrett Classical Academy. There was only one last thing to do: wait for voters to roll in.

Alex Rose, an Independent running for Allegheny County Council at-large spent the morning greeting every voter who walked up the stairs of the Sterrett Classical Academy.
“It’s just wonderful to see all our neighbors going out and engaging in democracy,” Rose said.
Although he said he loves democracy, Rose’s favorite part of the election is seeing the dogs.
“We candidates do all this work for months, but at the end of the day, it’s these folks who determine our government,” Rose said. “That’s how it should be.”
Rose will be spending tomorrow at work rather than celebrating, but he is looking to his Thursday off.

Allegheny County Treasurer Erica Rocchi Brusselars stops by the Sterrett Classical Academy to support County Council At-Large candidate Alex Rose.
“I’m pulling for Alex Rose,” Brusselars said. “I am here to say hello to some candidates and check out the scene around the county.”

Matt Rudzki, a District Judge for the Fox Chapel area is running for Court of Common Pleas. The Sterrett Classical Academy is the third pooling place Rudzki visited today.
“The best part of the campaign for me is meeting all the folks across Allegheny County,” Rudzki said.

Laura Wenneker, the committee person for the 14th ward and 17th district spent election morning handing out fliers advertising the judges up for re-election.
“I’m interested in what we can do to improve things in the county,” Wenneker said. “I would like to see better and more affordable housing.” Wenneker said she voted for Alex Rose for Allegheny County Council at-large.

Ellen Wilson also spent the morning handing out fliers. Wilson represents the 14th ward, district 10. “I am voting to retain all of the judges,” Wilson said. “I’m encouraging everyone to vote for Alex Rose for County Council.”

Constable Dennis Inseria proudly stands in front of the entrance at the Sterrett Classical Academy.
“My job is to make sure everyone who wants to vote can vote without instruction,” Inseria said.

“I want Jamie Hickton for judge,” Maryann Bacharach said.
